Abstract
Objective The present study was conducted to assess the utility of soluable transferrin receptor (sTfR) to differentiate ACD from IDA and also to diagnose coexisting of IDA and ACD. Methods Serum iron,TIBC and sTfR were measured in 30 iron deficiency anemia (IDA) patients,20 anemia of chronic disease (ACD) patients and 20 controls. TS was calculated. Results sTfR(20. 12 ± 10. 08 μmol/L) and TIBC(77. 01 ± 13. 98 μmol/L) levels were significantly higher in the IDA group compared to other groups(P<0. 01) ,SI (3. 16 ± 1. 10 μmol/Dand TS (4. 25 ± 1. 76)% levels were significantly lower in the IDA group compared to other groups(P<0. 01). SKll. 64 ± 5. 82 μmol/L) ,TIBC(33. 78 ± 6. 33 μmol/L) and TS (34. 11 ± 14. 07)% levels were significantly diffrence in the ACD group compared to the controls( P<0. 01). Conclusion sTfR is the most sensitive serum biochemical marker for the identification of iron deficiency anemia. With other tests(SI, TIBC and TS) ,could effectively diagnose and differentiate IDA from ACD by sTfR and TS.关键词
