Abstract
Purpose To investigate the expression of 6 individual miRNAs and their significance in prostate cancer, and to discuss their use for the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Methods In situ hybridization staining combined with tissue microarray technology for 6 miRNAs was performed in 38 samples of benign prostate hyperplasia and 52 samples of prostate cancer. Results The expression of all 6 miRNAs showed a significant difference between the prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia tissues ( P <0. 05 ). The positive rate of these 6 miRNAs was significantly related to the Gleason grade of prostate cancer( P < 0. 05 ), but not with age and serous PSA level of the patient ( P >0. 05 ). On the otherhand, the expression of miR-15b , miR-182 and miR-96 correlated with tumor clinical stage ( P <0. 05 ), The expression of miR-96 correlated with the extension of tumor invasion in prostate ( P <0. 05 ). Conclusions The miRNAs may be involved in the development of prostate cancer, and they may be important biomarkers for diagnosis and prognostic assessment of prostate cancer.关键词
