Estimation of Critical Viscosity for Common Organic Compounds

Abstract
Based on the Cailletet-Mathias linear-diameter law which is used for the estimation of critical density, a linear-diameter law of viscosity was proposed, and critical viscosity of any organic compounds can be estimated by using the proposed law. Comparing the estimated critical viscosity values of 37 substances with their documental data (all over average error is 3.629%) shows that the proposed law can be used to estimate critical viscosity accurately. Then the critical viscosities of 670 common organic compounds were estimated by means of the proposed law. The accuracy of using Uyehara-Watson equation to calculate the critical viscosity was verified, and it was found that its all over average error for above 670 substances is 10.354%. By revising the coefficients and indexes of the Uyehara-Watson equation, a modified Uyehara-Watson equation for critical viscosity estimation with all over average error of 4.65% was proposed. Through the analyses of error distributions of 670 compounds and errors for different kinds of compounds, it shows that the modified equation is more applicable to estimate the critical viscosity than the Uyehara-Watson equation.关键词
