Synthesis of the Fiber Grafted with Glycidyl Methacrylate and Its Oil Adsorptive Property

Abstract
Cellulose-g-glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) was obtained from graft copolymerization of bleached eucalyptus pulp with GMA induced by Fe2+-H2O2-thioureadioxide (TD) redox system via the crosslinking reaction. Influences of each factor on grafting percentage and oil adsorption rate of the cellulose-g-GMA were investigated as well. The FT-IR spectra of cellulose-g-GMA indicated that GMA monomer had been successfully grafted onto the cellulose backbone. The results showed thai the oil adsorption rate of cellulose-g-GMA toward 0" diesel can achieve 17. 6 g/g when reaction temperature was 55℃ , monomer dosage was 0.14 mol/L, H3O2 dosage was 0.20 g/L, TD dosage was 1.00 g/L, DAP dosage was 5. 0 % , liquor ratio was 50:l(mL:g) respectively. Generally the oil adsorption rate increased with the increasing grafting percentage, and the contact angle, as well as the epoxy group content of cellulose-g-GMA were augmented with (he increasing of grafting percentage. The fiber surface polarity of cellulose-g-GMA is the main factor which influences (he oil adsorption rale.关键词
