摘要

Abstract

Both the multi-blocks structured meshes and Laminar model were adopted to solve the Navier-Stokes equations for incompressible flow. The flow past a circular cylinder at low Reynolds numbers up to 300 was simulated by using FLUENT. Two special flows flied around the circular cylinder were obtained without any disturbance. The numerical simulation focused on investigating the hydrodynamic characteristic represented by the mean surface pressure, mean drag coefficient, fluctuating drag and lift coefficient, the Strouhal frequency of vortex shedding and the separation angle. The computation results are validated against measurement data, which provide basis for the research of flow past a circular cylinder and vortex-induced vibration.
