Abstract
Benzaldehyde glycol acetal was synthesized using benzaldehyde and glycol as initial reagent in the presence of Ferric tri (dodecanesulfonate). The optimized conditions were investigated respectively the results are as follows: mole ratio of benzaldehyde to glycol is 1.0 : 1. 3, the amount of catalyst is 1. 6% of feed stocks, cyclohexane is used as water-carrying agent, and the reaction time is 90 min. Under such conditions, an 82. 4% yield of benzaldehyde glycol acetal was obtained. The refractive index of products is Nd20 = 1. 526 4. The results demonstrate that Ferric tri (dodecanesulfonate) is a good catalyst for preparation of benzylaldehyde ethylene glycol acetal, which owning the advantages such as simple post-treatment procedure, non-toxic and green features.关键词
