Causes of Earthquake Swarms in Jiangsu and Neighboring Areas
摘要
Abstract
Thirty-six earthquake swarms since 1985 in Jiangsu and neighboring areas are studied in this paper. Earthquake swarms show clustering characteristics and have a good correlation with M > 7 earthquakes in Taiwan. Result shows that the genesis regions of strong earthquakes at Taiwan are all large, which influence and control the seismicity and clustering of earthquake swarms in Jiangsu and neighboring areas. The clustering of earthquake swarms has a relationship with the increasing of regional stress field, and has short-term indicative meaning in occurrence of M >7 earthquakes in Taiwan.关键词
