Abstract

On the basis of the dielectric barrier discharge theory, a non-thermal plasma reactor was designed and the relationship between the energy density and working voltage was investigated. LaMnO3 catalyst was loaded on the ceramic honeycomb schedules by the means of citrate-gel method. The non-thermal plasma assisted LaMnO3 catalyst system was established. The bench test was carried out to investigate the reduction of particulate matter and Nox emissions from diesel engine with NPAC technology. Results showed that the energy density of NTP generator increases with working voltage under different frequencies. The concentration of NO was significantly reduced, the concentration of NO2 was increased obviously and the concentration of NOX decreased after NPAC technology. With the increase of energy density, soot smoke opacity was decreased and the maximum reduction was to 83%. The results show that particulate matter and NOX emissions can be effectively transformed by NPAC technology, NPAC technology has a broad prospect in the field of exhaust after treatment.
