摘要

Abstract

The changes of soil moisture on natural grassland and the relations between forage bio-mass and the soil moisture in middle belt of south mountain in Urumqi were analyzed. Results indicated that changes of the soil moisture in the area could be divided into five periods, such as the increased period in spring,the slowness lose period in late spring and early summer,convalescent period in eraly summer,quickly lose period in summer, stable period in autumn ;The vertical variation of soil moisture in different years presented decreasing trend along with the depth ;forage biomass in end of each month of growth stage (May to September )depended not only on average soil moisture in current month, but also on the soil moisture, average temperature, sunlight, soil fertility before the current month.
