Study on the Antioxidant Activity of Sweet Orange Oil

摘要

Abstract

[Objective] The purpose was to study the antioxidant activity of sweet orange oil. [Method] The antioxidant activity of sweet orange oil was determined by DPPH free radical elimination method and Prussian blue method resp. [Result] When the mass concn. Of sweet orange oil was less than 192.5 mg/ml and the sweet orange oil showed dose effect on increasing the eliminated rate of DPPH free radical. When its mass concn. Exceeded 192.5 mg/ml,the eliminated rate of DPPH free radical was invariable basically. When its concn. Was in 27.5 - 192.5 mg/ml,the eliminated rate of DPPH free radical showed good dose - effect relationship with the concn. Of sweet orange oil and their linear equation was y = 0. 319 2x +28. 9,(R2 =0.987 1). In the experiment on eliminating DPPH free radical,the detection wavelength was 518 nm,the stabilizing time of reaction was 60 min and IC50 was (66.10 ±0.39) mg/ml. In the concn. Range of 27.5 - 137.5 mg/ml,the reducing power of sweet orange oil was increased linearly along with the increase of its concn. And its line fitting equation was y = 0. 0041x + 0. 121 1, (R2 =0.989 9). So, it was validated that the sweet orange oil possessed higher reducing power and was better electron supplier. [ Conclusion ] The sweet orange oil possessed higher reducing power and its reducing power showed extremely significant dose - effect relationship with its mass concn. In the range of 27.5 -137.5 mg/ml.
