Effects of Different Planting Density and Nitrogen Fertilizer Application Rate on Growth and Development and Yield of Several New Maize(Zea mays L.) Varieties

Abstract
[Objective] The aim was to study the effects of different planting density and nitrogen fertilizer application rate on growth and development and yield of several new maize varieties, and then find out their best planting density and nitrogen fertilizer application rate. [Method] By randomized block arrangement test of three factors, the mathematical models of 4 new maize varieties(Yunduan6hao, Yunduan8hao, Yuanduan88hao and Chudanllhao) with planting density and nitrogen fertilizer application rate were established. [Result] The best nitrogen fertilizer application rate of Yunduan6hao was 900 kg/hm2, and the normal fertilization method was used; Its best planting density was 6. 75 X 104 plants/hm2. The best nitrogen fertilizer application rate of Yunduan8hao was 600 kg/hm2, and the normal fertilization method was used; Its best planting density was 6.75 x 104 plants/hm2. The best nitrogen fertilizer application rate of Yunduan88hao was 900 kg/hm2, and the space - time fertilization method was used; Its best planting density was 5.25 X 104 plants/hm2. The best nitrogen fertilizer application rate of Chudanllhao was 600 kg/hm2, and the space - time fertilization method was used; Its best planting density was 5. 25 X 10 plants/hm .[Conclusion] The study provides a scientific basis for extension of Yunduan6hao, Yunduan8hao, Yuanduan88hao and Chudanllhao in Chux-iong Area, Yunnan Province.关键词
