Effects of Exogenous Trehalose on the Silk Quality of Silkworm
摘要
Abstract
[Objective] The research aimed to discuss the effects of exogenous trehalose on the growth and silk quality of silkworm. [ Method] The feeding experiment was made on the silkworm variety Jingqing x Haoyue to study the effects of adding trehalose on the growth and silk quality of silkworm. [ Result ] After adding trehalose, the mounting time was shorter and the size of cocoon filament decreased, but the survival rate, body weight, the cocooning ratio of the fourth-instar larvae, percentage of common cocoon, reelability, per cocoon' s filament length and length of non-broken cocoon filament increased. The results of the comprehensive evaluation showed that the performance of silkworm with adding 20 mmol/L trehalose was the best. [ Conclusion] Exogenous trehalose was of positive significance for enhancing the growth and the silk quality of silkworm.关键词
