Analysis of Urban Expansion and Its Driving Forces Based on Remote Sensing Data

Abstract
By using the supervised classification, the land use images of Zhangdian District of Zibo City in 2000, 2006 and 2011 were classified. The results showed that the area of farmland and construction land occupied about 93% of total Zhangdian District area. During 2000 -2011, the construction land area increased by 82. 74% with an annual average rate of 7.52% ; the farmland area decreased by 36. 93% with an annual average rate of 3. 36%. Farmland was the main source of urban expansion. The urban expansion of Zhangdian District was driven by the development of traffic infrastructure, the rapid growth of urban population, the fast development of economy and the growth of investment amount.关键词
