Close-Reading and Expression： BEI Dao＇s Poetry Translation Theory
摘要
Abstract
BEI Dao＇s insights into poetry translation in the book Rose of Time are concluded as ： the translator should be as qualified as a close friend of its poet when decoding the poem; and he should be as sensitive as a poet in reconstructing the rhythm with pure and expressive language when translating. This can be viewed as an expressionist approach, different from the current popular approaches aiming at representation. To clarify and establish such a theory for poetry translation is of great significance in settling the disputes in the circle of poetry translation, setting a better standard for poetry translation criticism, and finally improving the quality of translation poems.关键词
