The Cain Tradition in Byron＇s Poetic Drama
摘要
Abstract
Cain is a classic image in the western literary tradition. As he kills his brother Abel, he is called ＂the first murderer of human being＂. From then on, Cain is marked with sin and evil, and it also forms the evil Cain tradition in the Bible. But Byron＇s poetic drama Cain gives another image to this person, in detail, a Byronic here＇s image, which is quite different from the traditional evil one. Byron＇s attitudes towards God and evil were analyzed from the transformation of Cain＇s image, and then the anti-tradition of Byron and his works were explored.关键词
