Women＇s Searching for Their Own Identities A New Interpretation of ＂A Cat in the Rain＂
摘要
Abstract
Over the years, ＂A Cat in the Rain＂ was interpreted by critics as a story about ethics of marriage, or about females＇ suffering oppressive and marginalized social status. Connecting with Hemingway＇s experiences and social and cultural context in that period, the dynamic relationship between the American wife and the cat is analyzed, deeming that the story reflects women＇s searching for their own identities, and vaguely transfers Hemingway＇s sympathy and affirmation to women.关键词
