Abstract

Flowerlike micro spheres La2O3 powders were prepared by the hydrothermal method. The NiO/La2O3 catalyst was obtained by impregnation and pyrolysis method. The catalyst structure was characterized through X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electronic microscope (SEM) technologies. The cordierite alveolus ceramic was used as the carrier, and the catalytic properties of the catalysts were tested using a fix bed micro-reactor fitted in a programmable oven. The results show that this special catalyst of NiO/La2O3 has high activity and yield of products for ethanol steam reforming reaction at low temperature. The catalysis properties of the catalysts were tested using a fix bed micro-reactor fitted in a programmable oven when 0.7-1.0 g catalyst was loaded and the in-flow liquid was 0.05 mL/min. The catalyst stability was more than 1 000 hours. After 13 times of repeated cycle test, the catalyst shows high stability and good catalytic activity.
