摘要

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to study the histopathological changes of juvenile Jian carp (Cypri-nus carpio var. Jian) with biotin deficiency. Four hundred juvenile Jian carp with an average body weight of (7. 72+0. 02) g were randomly divided into 2 groups with 4 replicates each and 50 fish in each replicate. Fish in the 2 groups were fed experimental diets containing 0. 010 (deficiency group) and 0. 151 mg/kg (control group) biotin, respectively. The experiment lasted for 63 days. The results showed as follows; biotin deficiency resulted in denaturalization, mortification and exfoliation of intestinal epithelium cell; denaturalization and swelling of hepatocyte; denaturalization and swelling of hind kidney tubular cell; dissolution and fracfure of heart muscle fiber, and muscle fiber gap widening; atrophy and fracture of muscle fiber, and muscle striation cloudiness or disappearance; adhesion, mortification and exfoliation of gill flake, as well as hyperemia in branchial arch. The results indicate that biotin deficiency induces different degrees of histopathological injury in tissues and organs of juvenile Jian carp.
