摘要
Abstract
With a study of the world-renowned landscape architect Kathryn Gustafson＇s design language,this paper summarized Gustafson＇s five typical design languages.It figured out Gustafson used clay model to create landform and space and that she used paths,bridges and channels that ran through the site to emphasize the direction and to lead users＇ sight line.In addition,Gustafson used stage＇ as the focal of the site to provide diversified public activities in public space design and focused on water and reflection to encourage the communication between people and the site.She also used herbaceous plants and metal to define space through comparison approach.This paper explored Kathryn Gustafson＇s design statement---ideas and concepts should be derived from the land and history of the site-through the case study of Gustafson＇s two excellent projects in the Eastern of USA.关键词
