摘要

Abstract

We propose an effective protocol to direct implement the two - atom controlled phase gate with the cross - Kerr nonlinearity by interference of polarized photons. The protocol is based on optical elements, two A - type three - level atoms trappd in two distant cavities, cross - Kerr nonlinearity and the conventional photon detectors, which are feasible with existing experimental technology. The advantages of the protocol are that in Lamb - Dicke limit, the protocol do not require the simultaneous click of the detectors and has a high success probability. This makes the present protocol more realizable in experiments.
