摘要

Abstract

By combining the variable substitution with the method of adaptive Gauss-Lobatto Quadrature, we calculated the earth return impedances for homogeneous earth case. Then we tested the method by comparing the results with CDEGS and approximated formula. Moreover, we investigated the formula of critical length and maximum metal potential of the pipeline from the strict derivation when the pipeline was connected with different loads at both ends. The results reveal that the method converges quickly, and the method can be applied to multilayer soils cases. Meanwhile, the corresponding constraints and position of maximum metal potential of the pipeline can be calculated. The research can provide a technical support for the selection of transmission line and pipeline engineering.
