Effects of Different Nutrition Solution Concentrations on Growth of Cucumber and Substrate Environments

Abstract
To study the influences of different nutrient solution concentrations on growth of greenhouse cucumber (Cucumis sativus L. ) and substrate environment. A negative pressure water supplying and controlling pot device were used in the experiment to supply nutrient solution, four nutrient solution concentrations are designed in pot experiment, i. e. , 0.5S.0.75S.1S.1.25S with 1S Yamazaki cucumber nutrient solution concentration as the standard concentration, and set a CK(1S) treatment which supply nutrient solution by traditional irrigation method. The results showed that the growth speed and yield of cucumber are increased with the increasing of nutrient solution concentration, and growth speed and yield of cucum- ber with the water supplying and controlling pot device method is better than the traditional irrigation method, but there are no significant differences on nutrient solution use efficiency and root activity. The concentration of N and P elements in the substrate extract solution at last fruit period of cucumber are very lower compare to the original solution, and also the concentrations of K elements has some degree decline. However, the concentrations of Ca, Mg and S elements with a serious accumulation which leads to the sharp increasing of EC value of substrate extract solution. The above results indicate that 1S and 1.25S Yamazaki cucumber nutrient solution concentration are suitable for the cultivation of greenhouse cucumber, but it had better to increasing the concentration of N and P elements and decreasing the concentration of Ca, Mg and S elements. The experiment result also proved that the method of optimize cucumber nutrient solution formulations by monitoring the pH, EC and the concentrations of mineral ions of substrate regularly.关键词
