Study on the Microstructure Alteration and Phase Transformation of Pyrophyllite by Dry Grinding
摘要
Abstract
The microstructure alteration and phase transformation of pyrophyllite were investigated by field emission scanning electron microscopy ( FE-SEM) , high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) coupled with energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDX) techniques and X-ray diffraction ( XRD). The following results are obtained: ( 1 ) The mechanical treatment by grinding produces a decrease in the particle size of original pyrophyllite with increasing time. With the increase of grinding intensities, the powder appears re-aggregation due to the high surface energy of active particle; ( 2 ) The dry grinding leads to lattice structure changed, and it results in phase transformation. Moreover, the sequence of reactions from pyrophyllite, through the anhydride phase, eventually to quartz and amorphous alumina is found,and the above quartz comes from the natural pyrophyllite.关键词
