Abstract

Through analyzing the soil fertility of different forest types, the contents of soil nutrient elements in Gongqing forest farm of Wuzhou were comparatively studied to discuss the changes of soil fertility in new Castanopsis hystrix forest and Schima superba forest after cut. The results showed that with the growth of Castanopsis hystrix and Schima superba, the contents of soil nutrient elements in different plantations were significantly decreased. Compared with the control, the contents of pH value, organic matter, total N, total P, effective P, exchangeable Ca and Mg, effective Cu and Zn in the soil of Castanopsis hystrix and Schima superba plantation showed the trend of decrease, but total K and exchangeable Ca showed the trend of increase. The decrease of pH value in the forest showed regularity and the range of decrease in the Sc,hima superba plantation was the worst. The contents of effective P in the soil of Castanopsis hystrix, Schima superba and control plantation were obviously decreased when compared with before afforestation, but the decrease degree of three plantations wasn't the significantly different. After 4-years growth, the order of contents of effective P and B in the different plantations soil was Castanopsis hystrix 〉 Schima superba 〉Control, and the order of content of exchangeable Ca was Chinese cherry〉 Castanopsis hystrix 〉 Control.
