Differences Between Fruit Phenotypic Characters of Cenxi Soft-branch Camellia oleifera Clones in Different Cultivation Areas

Abstract
The geographic differences of fruit phenotypic characters of clones of Cenxi soft-branch No.2 and No.3 Camellia oleifera were studied by comparing three cultivation areas of Sanjiang, Cenxi and Nanning, which lie to the： north, east and south of Guangxi province. The results showed that single fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit height, fruit shape index （weight/diameter）, peel thickness, fresh seed number, fresh seed weight, seed ratios of fresh fruit or seed number per kg were different to some extent. The fruit diameter, fresh seed weight, seed ratios of fresh fruit and seed number per kg between Cenxi soft-branch No. 2 and Cenxi soft-branch No. 3 showed extremely significant differences. On the whole, there were less differences between the cultivation areas of Nanning and Cenxi, but more between Sanjiang and the two others. The colors of fruits were different between different cultivation areas, which were cyan, turquoise, greenish yellow and greenish brown.关键词
