Survey on main tobacco diseases and insect pests occurrence dynamic and demonstration of integrated control measures

Abstract
[Objective]The present study was conducted to construct forecasting network of diseases and insect pests of tobacco in Baise to provide early warning on diseases and insect pests in tobacco-growing areas, and to find out integrated control techniques for diseases and insect pests management in order to improve the existing control measures. [Method]From 2008 to 2010, the occurrence dynamic of main diseases and insect pests (including virus disease, black shank, bacterial wilt, aphid, Helicoverpa armigera, Prodenia litura fabricius) in tobacco were monitored, and integrated control of tobacco diseases and insect pests were practiced according to the occurrence dynamic and the result of prediction. [ Result ]The main tobacco virus diseases in tobacco-growing areas of Baise were TMV and TZSV. Black shank and bacterial wilt occurred slightly, while the occurrence of Helicoverpa armigera was severe, and its occurrence time varied with the transplanting period. The occurrence of Prodenia litura fabricius was found from moderate to severe. The migration peak of aphid varied regionally. The demonstration of integrated control of main insect pests and diseases in tobacco achieved remarkable effects, the incidence of virus disease and black shank in experimental area decreased by 17.84, 8.28 and 11.05% and 10.4, 14.18 and 5.92% compared to the control area from 2008 to 2010, respectively. The number of aphid, Helicoverpa armigera and Prodenia litura fabricius in experimental area decreased 223,67 and 33,and 48,17 and 9/100 plants, and 5,17 and 13/100 plants compared to the control area, respectively. The rate of upper-quality tobacco leaf, yield, output value and the average price were higher in experimental area compared to the control area. [Conclusion] The system of the prediction and monitoring network of diseases and insect pests in tobacco and their integrated control techniques were helpful to enhance the control measures for diseases and insect pests, and could obtain significant economic and social benefits, and it should be extended and applied in tobacco-growing areas as soon as possible.关键词
