Development of high-efficiency and energy-saving oven for drying silkworm cocoon and its performance testing

摘要

Abstract

[Objective] The present study was conducted to develop a high-efficiency and energy-saving oven for drying silkworm cocoon in order to promote the energy-saving and emission reduction, decrease cost, preserve fresh silkworm cocoon, and increase the quality of dried cocoon and economic benefits of silkworm industry. [Method]Analysis of advantages and disadvantages of all kinds of oven in silkworm regions of Guangxi were performed. The performance of energy-saving oven was tested according to the varietal characteristics, production characteristics and drying technology of silkworm cocoon, and the old type oven Su 83 was used for drying as control. [ Result ]The temperature on inner side of energy-saving oven kept relatively stable, while the temperature difference of old oven was obvious. The new oven could save 37.25% of coal and 3.0 h of time, and increase 0.99% (absolute value, the same in following) of reelable cocoon rate, 0.92% of reelability, 24.2 m of reelable length of cocoon, 1.06% of raw silk of crude cocoon and 0.5 time of rushing upon cocoons per 10000 m. [Conclusion]The energy-saving oven had advantages of quick temperature increments, little differences in internal and external temperatures, saving energy and time, convenient operation and regulation, etc. The quality of dried cocoon was also better than that processed in old oven. The patent application of the new type drying oven has been accepted as utility-type patent on Dec, 2010 (accession number 201120012990.2). The new energy-saving oven is good for extension and application in Guangxi.
