Abstract
College students＇ silence is also sometimes found in foreign teachers＇ English class. Based on ques- tionnaire and interviews, this essay analyzes students＇ class silence. It has identified four causes of students＇ silence in class： students, teachers, cross-cultural differences and some objective aspects. Meanwhile, recommendations about how to break the students＇ classroom silence have been made for three groups： students, foreign teachers and school management.关键词
