Abstract
Aim:To investigate the protective effects of total flavonoids of engelhardtia roxburghiana(TFER) on brain of cerebral ischemic/reperfusion rats and the possible mechanism. Methods: A total of 48 SD rats were randomly divided into six groups (8 rats per group) : sham group, model group, 200,100,50 mg/kg TFER groups and 292 mg/kg Naoxintong group. The model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion was set up using suture method. The neurobehavioral scores and brain water content were determined,and then,serum NO level, MDA content, SOD and GSH-Px activities were evaluated. Re-Sults:There were significant differences in the neurobehavioral scores, brain water content, NO level, MDA content,SOD and GSH-Px activities among six groups(F = 35. 305, 40.259, 15.338, 21.022,10.497, 12. 381 ,P < 0. 001 ). Except GSH-Px of 100 mg/kg TFER group,there were significant differences in other indexes of 100 and 200 mg/kg TFER groups compared with those of model group( P <0. 05 ) . Conclusion: TFER possesses protective effects on brain of cerebral ischemic/reperfusion injury. The efficacy may be due to its antioxidant activity.关键词
