Decoupling numerical methods for simulation of thermal processes in coupled combustion and carbonization chambers of coke oven

Abstract
A mathematical model for combustion, fluid flow and heat transfer in combustion and carbonization chambers of coke oven was established to describe coupled transport phenomena in the chambers with complex structures. Since it is time-consuming and difficult to converge for coupling numerical simulation, two different decoupling numerical methods were proposed and performed. The two decoupling simulation methods are less time-consuming and easier to be applied with good accuracy and faster convergence compared with the coupling method. One of the decoupling methods is preferred to the other because its results match the actual condition better, although it is more time-consuming. It is expected that these two decoupling numerical methods could supply alternative ways for numerical simulation of transport phenomena in combustion and carbonization chambers of coke oven, and be helpful for other similar simulations of complicated transport processes.关键词
