Abstract
The present work deals with the removal of Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solutions in a batch mode system using polyaniline synthesized by chemical oxidation.Polyaniline was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer. The effects of various experimental conditions such as pH, initial metal ion concentration, time and temperature were studied. The sorption system follows the Langmuir model and second-order kinetic model. The maximum adsorption capacities obtained from the Langmuir isotherm model are 198.41 mg/g at pH 3 and a temperature of 20℃. Thermodynamic parameters such as AH°, AS° and AG° were evaluated for the adsorption process. It is therefore reasonable that PANI could be used for the removal of Cr(VI) ion from wastewater.关键词
