Abstract
Aimed at an alternative to the low alloy cast steel material suffering from cracking when treated with the water quenching or a high cost when treated with oil quenching,this paper describes a quenching medium between water and oil which boasts a more stable performance,a simpler preparation,and a lower price.The result shows that the treatment of the rare earth low-alloy cast steel material with the polyethylene alcoholic solution as its quenching medium produces the organization of lath martensite plus acicular martensites and remaining austenite,which acts as a replacement for quenching oil due to the average hardness of 55.7HRC and the best wear resistance.The polyethylene alcoholic solution,safe,practical,and low in the production cost yields test sample with a better wear resistance.关键词
