摘要

Abstract

Wide area protection provides a new way to solve the outstanding issues of traditional backup protection. Real-time and reliable communication network is the foundation of wide-area protection. So the paper firstly designs a hierarchical structure of wide-area protection system, which divides the power grid into three layers, namely, access layer, convergence layer and core layer. Then, a substation unified network topology is designed, so that the IED of wide-area relay protection can collect information of relevant bay equipments by accessing bay level public switches. In terms of accessing to power communication network, the IED of wide-area relay protection accesses an Ethernet port of MSTP separately. A hierarchical structure network topology of wide-area protection, wide-area network information transmission mode and redundant scheme are designed based on HVPLS.
