Abstract
The conventional single-phase reclosure with fixed time delay cannot obtain a good performance because of uncertainty of the secondary arc extinction. To remedy such a situation, a novel single-phase reclosure scheme based adaptive secondary arc extinction is presented. When a single phase to ground fault takes place and relay protection initiates circuit breakers at both sides of the line to open a faulted phase, it is identified whether the secondary arc is extinction continually. If the secondary arc is extinct, breakers of fault phase are reclosed immediately. If the secondary arc is not extinct, it will keep on to be identified until the power system cannot bear the negative- and zero-sequence current in open-phase operation. The time of resuming the normal operation is reduced and the interconnected system transient stability is improved when the arc extinction is rapid while opportunity of closure is enhanced when the arc is lasted for a long time.关键词
