Abstract
Main problems of traditional low exciting limit and loss-of-excitation protection faced in practice are analyzed and a low exciting limit method based on impedance characteristics is proposed. The low exciting limit method is directly based on measuring impedance of generator terminal so that the criterion of low exciting limit is described on the same coordinate plane as that of loss-of-excitation protection. Conversion of coordinate plane during setting calculation is avoided to reduce the work of setting & checking greatly and prevent the mismatch and malfunction of loss-of-excitation effectively. Currently, the low exciting limit controller adopting the method has been successfully applied in practical engineering.关键词
