Grinding force and specific grinding energy of nickel based superalloy during high speed grinding with cBN wheel
摘要
Abstract
Grinding force and specific grinding energy are not only two significant issues to evaluate the grinding process, but also vital for choosing suitable grinding process. Through the grinding experiments on nickel based superalloy GH4 169 using vitrified bonded, electroplated and single-layer brazed wheels, the relationships of the maximum undeformed chip thickness versus grinding force and specific grinding energy are presented. Their relevant theoretical formula was obtained. The test results revealed that the single layer brazed wheel was suitable for high-speed grinding of nickel based superalloy GH4169. Meanwhile, the existence and function of "size effect"was proved. The results of this work will provide references value for the research of high speed grinding mechanism and the optimization of the process.关键词
