Abstract
Carrier and symbol timing synchronization is the key factor which can affact the performance of OFDM system greatly. In this paper, an improved symbol timing synchronization solution of Schmidl&Cox algorithm for IEEE 802. 11 a is introduced. As for the improved solution here, the structure of the long training symbol in IEEE 802. 1 la's frame is changed, and with the use of time delay autocorrelation, the plateau of the timing metric of Schmidl&Cox method is eliminated. The solution proposed in this paper significantly improves the accuracy of symbol timing synchronization in OFDM system. The FPGA design of the baseband system of IEEE 802.11a using system generator in simulink development enviroment is given in part 3, and the whole design can successfully satisfy the function requirement of the system very well.关键词
