Abstract
Objective To detect the serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) change before and after oral Letrozole treatment in patients with postmenopausal breast cancer, and observe the correlation between serum VEGF and postmenopausal breast cancer patients with Letrozole therapy. Methods The levels of serum VEGF before and after 1 year Letrozole treatment in 49 cases with postmenopausal breast cancer were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, and the levels of VEGF in 33 healthy volunteers were considered as control group. Results The level of VEGF of 49 patients before Letrozole therapy in postmenopausal breast cancer group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P＜0.01). The level of VEGF after 1 year Letrozole therapy decreased markedly (F＜0.01). The level of VEGF of ER ( + ) group declined significantly than that of the ER - group (P＜0. 01). Conclusion After oral Letrozole treatment, the serum VEGF of women with postmenopausal breast cancer expression declines significantly, which helps to prevent the cancer recurrence and metastasis.关键词
