Abstract
Objective To explore nursing strategies of mechanical ventilation for esophageal cancer patients complicated with postoperative respiratory failure. Methods Nine esophageal cancer patients complicated with postoperative respiratory failure were chosen. Close observation was made. Mechanical ventilation monitoring and artificial airway management were strengthened. Sputum suction care, ventilator correlated pneumonia and ventilator weaning care and a series of nursing measures were conducted. Results Among nine cases, 8 cases recovered and 1 case was transferred to the local hospital for further treatment with stable condition because of ventilator weaning difficulty. Conclusion Respiratory failure is the most serious and critical complication after esophageal cancer surgery. The early discovery and the use of mechanical ventilation is the key to a successful rescue.关键词
