Fatigue Reliability Analysis of Contact Wire under Wind Load

Abstract
To get the fatigue stress spectrum through the contact wire stress time history, a statistical analysis of the average wind speed probability distribution of Hundred-Miles Wind Area at Lanchow-Sinkiang railway is made, and a multivariable simulation model of stochastic wind field based on the spectral representation method is proposed, and a finite element model of a segment eatenary of the strong wind area in Xinjiang is built up by the finite element program ANSYS, which consists of hanging structures and support structures. To research the fatigue reliability of contact wire under wind load, a fatigue reliability calculation method is proposed, which base on the maximum average wind speed distribution function, fatigue stress spectrum and Palmgren-Miner linear cumulative fatigue damage criterion. The results show that the average wind speed probability distribution of Hundred-Miles Area at Lanchow-Sinkiang railway obey Weibull distribution which shape parameter is 2.5 and scale parameter is 16.2 ; the fatigue reliability of contact wire under wind load can be improved in evidence by decreasing catenary span.关键词
