Abstract
Objective To study the clinical pathway(CP) in control of hospital stay time and medical cost of breast cancer patients. Methods Seventy-three breast cancer patients were divided into CP group(n=35) and control group(n=38). Total hospital stay time, preoperative hospital stay time, postoperative hospital stay time, total hospitalization cost, drug cost and hospital infection were compared between the two groups. Results The total hospital stay time and postoperative hospital stay time were significantly shorter, and the total hospitalization cost and drug cost were significantly less in CP group than in control group. No significant difference was found in age, preoperative hospital stay time and hospital infection between the two groups. Conclusion CP can significantly reduce the medical cost, shorten the hospital stay time, standardize the behaviors of diagnosis and treatment, and is thus a good model for the rational charge in hospitals.关键词
