Abstract

The failure process of steel-concrete composite structure,CTSRC(cold-formed thin-walled steel reinforced concrete) shear wall,which is different from that of RC wall,undergoes from integral wall to slit wall under horizontal seismic load.The behavior of CTSRC walls with shear span ratios less than 2.0 is identical to that of the integral wall before peak load.At peak load,the relative slippage perpendicular to the vertical crack takes place abruptly.Then the wall changes into slip walls.Based on the softened strut-and-tie model,a new analytical model called the softened strut-and-slip model was proposed and used to calculate the shear strength.It is found that the model can reproduce the test results with satisfactory agreement.The softened strut-and-slip model can provide beneficial insights into the shear behavior of CTSRC walls,and can determine the shear strength accurately.
