Structural design of the Shenzhen North Railway Station

Abstract
Shenzhen North Railway Station,one of the major hub stations in the Beijing-Guangzhou-Hong Kong railway system,with 180 000 m2 construction area,consists of a central station house and the no-pillar platforms on both sides and adopts an innovative spatial structural system without construction joints.Based on the project background,this paper introduced the key technical issues in the structural design,such as the structural system selection,the loading analysis,the anti-seismic performance design,the analysis of temperature variation and concrete shrinkage effect on super-long structure,the analysis of vibration effect from elevated LRT,etc.Research results show that rational structural design can realize the architecture perfectly.Control of the vibration from the elevated LRT is an important issue for the railway station structure design.Finite element analysis of the overall structure and some special measures can effectively minimize the temperature variation and concrete shrinkage effects on the super-long structure.Quadrilateral string support system largely increases the work efficiency of string supported system in existence.The project can be a reference for similar projects.关键词
