摘要
Abstract
Objective The radial augmentation index (rAI)is a useful index of aortic stiffness. To study the determinants of radial augmentation index in subjects with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). Methods In the present study, 600 IGT subjects (227 men and 373 women ) of Beijing aged 26-90 years(58.7 ± 12. 6 years) were enrolled , Height, weight, heart rate, BMI, waistline, blood pressure, total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL-C, LDL-C, fasting glucose and OGTT2h glucose were measured. The rAI were measured in the left radial artery using tonometry Colin HEM-9000AI. Statistical analysis were performed using SPSS 16.0. Results rAI of patients with IGT showed a positive relationship with age, waistline, SBP, PP, MBP, HDL-C and a negative association with height, weight, HR and fasting glucose, women had significantly higher rAI than men. Stepwise regression analysis revealed that sex (β = 0.27,P<0.01),age (β =0. 16, P<0.01) , height (0 = -0. 12,P <0. 05) ,HR (β = -0. 47,P <0. 01 )and MBP (β = 0. 19, P < 0. 01) were independent determinants of rAI in subjects with IGT. Conclusions Sex, age, height, HR and MBP are independent determinants of rAI in subjects with IGT. It is necessary to take into account these confounding factors when rAI is used as an index for aortic stiffness to IGT.关键词
