Abstract
This paper proposes a new approach of suppressing sidelobes based on APES in the case that sidelobea of strong targets alias into outside SAR viewing area and adverse impact on weak targets detection can be made. Strong clutters outside viewing area need to be suppressed. The locations of strong clutters are determined based on the shape of their hyperbolic curves in echo domain. The scattering coefficients of strong clutters are estimated by APES and then suppressed in echo domain. SAR images generated from suppressed echoes can avoid the adverse impact of strong clutters on weak targets detection effectively. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the approach.关键词
