摘要

Abstract

Northern Venezuela Railway Tinaco--Anaco Section is the general contracting project for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) undertaken by China Railway. The railway has the total length of 465 km and the design speed of 220 km/h for passenger train and 120 km/h for freight train, which is the important project for China's high-speed railway construction to the world. In this paper, through analyzing the geological conditions of this railway, the engineering geological characteristics along the railway line are described from the aspects of formation lithology, geological structure and hydrogeological condition. The results showed that the overall geological conditions are good. At the same time, the existing main geological problems during construction are analyzed and the countermeasures are put forward.
