Abstract
Objective To compare MNA with MNA-SF in assessment of nutrition status of the elderly patients with chronic heart disease (CHD), and to comfirm the correlation of MNA and MNA-SF with classical nutritional assessment methods. Methods 170 elderly patients with CHD aged 2: 60 years were evaluated their nutrition status with MNA and MNA-SF methods, respectively. The records included anthropometry, biochemical markers. Results (1) As a comparasion, value of BMI, triceps skinf bids, circumference of upper mid arm and crus, albumin and hemoglobin changes significantly under different nutritional group (P<0.05), either in MNA or in MNA-SF methods, literally value drops as nutritional status declines. (2) The results of assessment of nutrition status with MNA or MNA-SF method was highly consistent with consistent rate (po) at 85. 3 % and Kappa value at 0.706. The coefficients of correlation for MNA and MNASF was 0.839. (3) The linear regression analysis equation was MNA = 1.31 (MNA-SF) +7.76. Conclusions Both MNA and MNA-SF can be used to assess the nutrition status of CHD patients comprehensively in earlier stage with highly consistent results, whilest MNA-SF method is recommended due to its simplicity and higher efficiency.关键词
