中药复方治疗老年慢性前列腺炎的效果及机制探讨
Study on the effect of Chinese herbal compound prescription on chronic prostatitis in the elderly patients and its mech-anism

Abstract
Objective To study the therapy of Traditional Chinese Medicine for chronic prostatitis (CP) in the elderly patients. Methods 70 elderly patients with CP were treated with Chinese herbal compound prescription for 90 days and the treated outcome was assessed. The levels of IL-6, TNF-a and IL-10 in expressed prostatic secretion were evaluated and compared, respectively. Results After treatment for 90 days, 5 cases were cured, 38 cases had significant effect, 18 cases were improved, but 9 cases had no effect. The effective rate was 87.1 %. Scores of NIH-CPSI, pain and voiding symptoms after treatment were decreased as compared with pre-treatment (I'<0.05). The expressed prostatic secretion levels of IL-6 and TNF-a were markedly decreased and the levels of IL-10 were increased after treatment in the effective cases (61 cases) (P<0.05), whereas there was no statistical significant changes in the non-effective cases (9 cases). Conclusion Chinese herbal compound prescription has effect on chronic prostatitis in the elderly patients and its mechanism involves decrease in pro-inflammatory response and increase in anti-inflammatory response.关键词
