Effects of transplanting time and slow release-fertilizer content on the container seedling growth of Schima superba

Abstract
1 -year-old container seedlings of Schima superba was selected as research materials in this experiment. Under the same management and environmental conditions, caliper and height of the Schima superba container seedling were measured with three different transplant times and two different concentrations of slow-release fertilizer. Results showed that, height growth of total 360 sample seedlings were different significantly under treatments in two different concentrations ( 3 kg/m3 and 4 kg/m3) of slow-release fertilizer; caliper growth was related to transplant time. With early transplant time there were no significant differences in caliper growth of seedlings transplanted early, whereas significant difference existed in caliper growth of seedlings transplanted later. Transplanting the seedlings early with 3-5 leaves and increaseing fertilizer concentration could help to increase the seedling survival percentage and seedling growth rate.关键词
