An ICM Analysis on Verbal Irony Interpretation.
摘要
Abstract
ICM is an idealized abstract cognitive model based on bodily experience. This paper analyzes the cognitive mecha- nism of Verbal irony interpretation from the perspective of ICM. The meaning of verbal irony is conceptualization of human experience on the basis of the interaction between subjective and objective factors. The interpretation of verbal irony is a process of meaning construction in which receivers＂ ICMs are activated. Shared knowledge and human imaginative capability are vital in understanding verbal irony.关键词
